Hulshoff launches fully electric lorry

Hulshoff has long since driven with electric vehicles and recently launched their first fully electric lorry, the DuraTruck E 2114.

Hulshoff has long since driven with electric vehicles and recently launched their first fully electric lorry, the DuraTruck E 2114. This was done to realise their ambition for CO2 neutral transportation for several trusted partners. This was also an important objective for the organisation itself, which prioritises sustainability. “It’s a wish of a growing number of clients, but also for us personally”, Gerry Hulshoff. After commissioning GINAF, a commercial lorry manufacturer in Veenendaal, to provide the greenest mode of transportation, they chose to work with the Mercedes-Benz chassis.

 

About the DuraTruck E 2114

According to GINAF, the E2114 lorry meets the transportation needs of inner city transport. It is an electrically powered lorry with a loading capacity of 800 to 27,000 kilograms and for lorries with a maximum of 44 tonnes GVW. Additionally, because the powertrains were developed under the management of GINAF, it is possible to customise these according to the client’s wishes, and also for Hulshoff.

Following several adjustments, the lorry is not only ready for the road, it is also silent thanks to a compact loading platform with an electrically powered loading lift. The motor was also adjusted to that speeds up to 85km/h can be reached on non-urban roads. The gentlemen at Hulshoff: “This allows us to enter the city centre earlier in the day because residents aren’t subjected to noise disturbance. The loading platform and compact design make this a manoeuvrable and ideal solution. We are looking forward to taking it for a spin and are curious how our clients will react”.
